Hair Evolution

Hey Guys!,

To make up for my lack of posts lately I thought I would share my hair evolution. Since its almost the new year I thought it would be fitting to share all of my hair color changes and there are a lot lol.Let's start out with a fun one from when I was kid! Thats me on the left, nice hair right!! haha

Let's start out with the bob I had a few years back. I had it cut when Victoria Beckham's hair was all the rage. I loved it so much! Although it is definitely annoying trying to grow it out.
Later on I made my hair super blonde and used to put brown extensions in lol.
Flash forward a couple of years I made my hair an auburn red color  during  2011.
Here I am again with my red hair. It was fun while it lasted but I don't think I'll be a redhead again.
I let the red fade and made it brown.
In the beginning of 2012 I added some honey blonde highlights to my hair .
Here I am again with highlights.
In the spring I added a ton more highlights.
Eventually in the summer I made my whole head super blonde.
For the fall I added some dark brown to my hair and kept some blonde highlights.
I later added a little more brown to create the ombre effect.
Last week I made my hair blonde again. I just can't stay away lol.

I am so indecisive when it comes to my hair I go back and forth between blonde and brown and everything in between. I am going to leave my hair alone for a while because I don't want to do anymore damage. I use a lot of hair treatments and deep conditioners to keep it somewhat healthy. My boyfriend jokes that I change my hair color with the seasons lol.

Do any of you change your hair a lot?? What are your favorite colors to try??

Love, K xx

Current Favorites

Hey guys!!,

I can't believe its been almost a month since I have blogged. I don't know where the time has gone, but I promise to get back on track. I figured it was too late to do a November Favorites so I decided I would share with you some of my current favorites!

First up I want to talk about a couple of hair products I've been using a lot lately. I've been really loving the Suave dry shampoo. It really helps with second day hair and also helps to create great volume

Next up is the Bumble and Bumble styling lotion. I spray this in my hair before I use any heat on my hair and it creates noticeable shine.

Since it is winter and I'm super pale I like to use a little self tanner to maintain a healthy glow. Lately I've been using the Victoria Secret Beach Sexy tinted self-tan body spray. It gives a great color without being super dark but is easily buildable. I am always looking for the best self tanners so if you have a favorite please comment and let me know :)

Next up are a couple of brushes I have been absolutely in love with. Real techniques brushes by Samantha Chapman are so amazing!! The two I have been in love with are the expert face brush which makes applying foundation seamless and the blush brush which creates a perfect glow on your cheeks.

For face products I have three favorites. First up is mac mineralized skinfinish. My color is light plus. I love applying this to my face especially the t zone after my foundation. It really helps pro long my makeup all day.

For blush I have been wearing Wet n' Wild's Pearlescent pink a beautiful pink shade with gold shimmer.

For highlight I have been using and Elf eyeshadow brightening eye pot. It came in one of the get the look sets it doesn't have a specific name just #00301. But its a beautiful shimmery shade.

For mascara I have gone back to an old favorite. Covergirl Lash Blast. This will probably always be a favorite. Its great for lengthening and separating lashes.

I have two current favorite lipsticks. The first one is Revlon's super lustrous 477 Black cherry. This dep berry red is perfect for winter. Its such a beautiful color.

My other favorite lipstick is Mac's amplified saint germain. A gorgeous hot pink color. It's pretty bright for winter but I love it so much.

My last favorite is a nail polish. CVS is having there annual beauty discounts. Select makeup and nail polish has been marked down to 50% or 75%. So I grabbed a couple of things one of them being the Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kollection glitter polish in Rainbow in the S-Kylie. Its so beautiful with chunks of different sized multicolored glitter. Perfect for the holidays and it was half off!!

SO thats all my current favorites!! What are yours??

Collective Haul (Ulta, CVS, MAC..)

Hey guys,

Back with another haul. Over the past couple of weeks I have purchased a few items I have been saving to show you all. So lets jump right into it!

The first thing I want to mention is the mirror. I picked that up at TJ Maxx for $12.99. A pretty boring purchase haha just needed a new makeup mirror.

Next up I finally purchased the Mac mineralized skinfinish. I have been debating on getting this product for so long I finally just did it. And now I want to go back for soft and gentle lol. I picked the shade light plus since its winter time and I don't have a tan. I believe this was $28.

Next up I headed to CVS. First I grabbed the new Loreal True Match Lumi foundation. I saw MakeupByTiffanyD's video on this foundation and I really wanted to try it. I grabbed the shade porcelain light ivory is W1-2. Again because I am totally lacking in the tan department. I don't remember the exact price I paid but I think around $9.

While I was there I also decided to pick up a couple of nail polishes. Wet n Wild's spoiled line has some really cute colors for very cheap. $1.99 ea. So I grabbed two in the colors : pumping gas and jewelry heist.

Next I went to Ulta, for the first time ever!! Mainly because its a pretty good drive away. I really could go crazy in that store but I held back since I'm saving money for Christmas and just picked up what I needed.
I have been wanting a couple of new brushes and heard really great things about the Real Techniques brushes by Samantha Chapman of Pixiwoo on youtube. They were also buy 1 get 1 50% off. So I picked the expert face brush and the blush brush. Both brushes were $8.99 and I got one for half off.

I also wanted to try a Joico hair product and saw some mini ones available for $3 which was perfect. So I grabbed the K-Pak Moisture intense hydrator, can't wait to use it.

Okay guys thats my little collective haul. Hope you enjoyed it!!

Bath and Body Works Haul

Hey guys!,

I thought I would jump on here and share with you guys a quick Bath& Body Works Haul. Their hand soaps were 4 for $15 or 6 for $20. I also had a coupon to get something free (up to a $13 value) with a $15 purchase. So I decided I couldn't pass this deal up.

I love their new holiday collection, definitely gets me ready for the Holiday season. So here is what I picked up:
Winter Candy Apple

Fresh Sparkling Snow

Iced Ginger Bread

Winter Spice and Vanilla

And for my free gift I picked up the candle in winter. They describe this scent as "a fragrance that conjures up the moment when glittering icicles and sparkling snow transform the landscape- notes of pine needles, fir balsam and winter woods" It really does embody winter.

Last night I also picked up some wrapping paper. I know its super early but I prefer to get everything done early.

Are you guys excited for the Holidays?? Whats your favorite part? This year I am getting my first real tree! So exciting!

ELF Natural Eye Palette Review

Hey guys,

First I am sorry for the delay in posts we were hit pretty hard here in NYC with hurricane Sandy. I just had my power turned back on yesterday. I consider myself very lucky.
Now this post is all about Elf's natural eye palette. I really don't need anymore neutrals but I couldn't resist. I picked this palette up at Wallgreen's for $4.99.

The color selection is great, it reminds me of Urban Decay's naked palettes. However I will say the quality is not exactly the same but its a fraction of the cost. The lighter shades are a little bit chalky but nothing so bad I couldn't work with it.
The shadows have a somewhat satin finish. There is only one shadow with really noticeable shimmer.
I really like the warm brown shades as well as the mid tone colors for warming up the crease.
I would recommend this palette for anyone who loves neutral eyeshadows but isn't ready or willing to spend $50. The selection is great and can be used for a variety of looks.
The palette also comes with an applicator, brown eyeliner pencil and also includes some helpful tips.
Above is a swatch of the eyeliner. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the liner it doesn't really glide on smooth it actually hurt my eye a little. I amy have gotten a bad one because I have had other eyeliners from elf work well.
Here are some swatches of the shadows. They don't have names so I'll just go left to right with each row:

Do you have the ELF natural eye palette?? What do you think?

Ombre Hair Trend

Hey guys!,

So I'm finally going to do my ombre hair post. I dyed my hair about two weeks ago and have been meaning to get this up. I love the ombre trend, I think it is so pretty and great for fall. I especially love this trend when the hair is styled wavy.

The ombre trend can be subtle or more dramatic depending on your taste. I think it is something that can be tailored to the individual and looks good on everyone.
So basically I did a lot of research on how people achieved the look on their own. I was willing to pay for a professional to do it but if I could save a little money and do it myself that would be a win, win.
I watched a bunch of youtube videos and remembered that one of my favorite youtube beauty gurus Nicole Guerriero of NGuerriero19 had a DIY Ombre video. Seriously this video was SO helpful!!
here is the link -> DIYOMBREHAIR  If you are thinking of doing it yourself check this video out.
<- Nicole's ombre hair.

All you need is some bleach and a tooth brush!! I'm serious!
This is the bleach I used:
The process is really simple you basically part your hair the way you normally do and use the tooth brush to paint on the highlights. Be sure to make sure they are even on both sides. You can bring the highlights up a little higher wherever you want. It was so easy to do. I wish I took photos so I could demonstrate the process. But honestly if you follow Nicole's video you will have great results.
If your hair is really dark you may need to keep the bleach on a little longer I left mine on for about a half hour. I actually did this style to my mom, her hair was really dark so we had to repeat the process to get rid of the brassy orange.
If your hair is not that dark on top but you would like it to be you could use a regular brown dye and touch up your roots (thats what Nicole does in the video).
These are my results:
I love the way my hair turned out!! Let me know if you guys try the ombre trend!!

Goodnight :)
